There are several methods of building/managing a project.
These depend largely on the needs of the customer. Here
are some very effective options that dwb,
inc. is accustomed to using.
-
The Traditional Hard Bid- This
method allows multiple contractors to bid on predetermined specifications
and plans for a set dollar figure. These method allows fewer interactions
between owner and contractor prior to the bidding phase.
- Time and Materials- In
this method the owner agrees to reimburse dwb,
inc. for itemized materials and labor as well
as the project's un-reimbursed costs, including general overhead
and profit that are incurred on the specified job. The final
project cost is determined upon the completion of the project.
The method allows the greatest flexibility to the owner in determining
the requirements for the project.
-
Construction Management- This
approach involves the use of a construction manager to manage the costs and
schedules of a project. This is more of a "hands on" approach for the
owner to be involved in design, cost control, and subcontractor selection.
The use of a construction manager implements a guaranteed maximum price not
to exceed.
